In order to improve radio connectivity, PM Modi will today inaugurate 91 FM transmitters

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will digitally open 91 FM transmitters in 84 districts across 18 states and 2 union territories, improving radio coverage across the nation.
“The government is dedicated to improving FM connection across the nation. The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said in a statement that the 91 new 100 Watt FM transmitters had been placed in 84 districts spanning 18 States and 2 Union Territories. The announcement said that improving coverage in Aspirational Districts and border regions has been a particular emphasis of this expansion.
“The States and UTs covered include Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Ladakh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands,” the PMO said.
According to the PMO, an extra 2 crore individuals who previously not have access to the medium would now be covered. A 35,000 sq km region will see an enhancement in coverage as a consequence. The Prime Minister has always had a strong belief in the value of radio in interacting with the general public.
The statement said, “Prime Minister established the Mann ki Baat show, which is now approaching its historic 100th episode, to harness the special power of the medium to reach out to the biggest possible audience.
