On "Jubilee," Vikramaditya Motwane says: Our first goal was to develop compelling, engaging characters that the audience could relate to

It's true that great things take time. It has taken “good five to six years” for Vikramaditya Motwane's online serial “Jubilee” to eventually reach us as a 10-part series. But look at the masterpiece the director and his cast and crew have produced. We are transported to the heyday of Bollywood through the Amazon Prime Video series. With his remarkable storytelling, Vikramaditya Motwane has evoked a time and an atmosphere via the characters and conversation. “Jubilee” is a wonderful homage to the Indian actors and filmmakers of that time. It has received an overwhelmingly positive reaction from people all across the world.

Vikramaditya Motwane recently discussed the support and positive feedback his project has received in an interview with Outlook. He also explained why the name “Stardust” was changed, among other things.

on “Jubilee's” favourable reception from the audience. The “Lootera” director described it as “overwhelming” and “heartwarming,” and expressed his hope that the audience would react favourably to it. He is delighted to get such positive feedback from others.

Motwane said that it was not a concern at all when asked whether he had ever considered the possibility that the audience would not be able to accept or connect with it. He continued, “I believe when you build a universe, you want to take your audience along with you into that world. They are quite eager to enter a new world with you as long as your characters and the universe you ultimately create are engaging, therefore I have no doubt that they will follow you. Nothing, in my opinion, is preventing them from doing an unknown task. Therefore, whether or not the audience would show up was never a concern. Our first goal was to develop engaging characters that the audience could relate to.

For the uninitiated, 'Jubilee' was once known as 'Stardust'. Jubilee was the most well-known name, the director said when explaining why the title was changed. It seemed like the proper kind of celebration for the topics we want to discuss. Jubilee is an English term, but it has such an Indian meaning because of the golden and silver jubilees, which made it seem like it was closely related to old films. The name was more effective for us because of this.

When questioned whether his characters are purely imaginary or based on actual people. He said that there was no purpose in wanting the performers to appear like any actor or have any look while they were working with them. “I think there was a sense of our characters coming to life and then being created so that people can identify with them,” he said. However, there is also a certain amount of sentimental value associated with some of our older movie stars.

Prosenjit Chatterjee, Aparshakti Khurana, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sidhant Gupta, Ram Kapoor, Wamiqa Gabbi, Shweta Basu Prasad, and Nandish Singh Sandhu are just a few of the actors that appear in “Jubilee.”
